the fifth annual festival of new plays
LeapFest 5 First Night is Tuesday, June 3 at 7:30 PM
Five new plays “take the leap” in development in this three week festival of politically-minded new work. Each play will be presented in rotating repertory, and performances are followed by a discussion with the playwright and director. LeapFest’s first four years have seen many of the plays go onto successful world premiere productions at Stage Left and elsewhere, with three of the plays receiving Jeff Citations for Best New Work. This year’s installment will again include the theatrical spoof DrekFest, Stage Left’s national contest for the worst ten-minute play.
